ABSTRACT

This protocol addresses vasovagal reactions, one of the most common adverse events encountered during interventional pain procedures. Symptoms range from diaphoresis, nausea, and lightheadedness to profound bradycardia, hypotension, syncope, or cardiovascular collapse. Management includes immediate cessation of the triggering stimulus, supportive positioning, monitoring of vital signs, initiation of Basic Life Support/Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support when necessary, and prevention strategies for high-risk patients.
