Medical Board of California publishes updated Guidelines for Prescribing Controlled Substances for Pain (July 2023)

Per the MBCA: "The Board recognizes the need to ensure patients have access to safe and effective pain management treatment and, at the same time, also recognizes the need to support physicians providing treatment to this patient population. Consequently, the guidelines were updated to provide a framework for clinician use while also encouraging the development of treatment plans customized for their patients."

NIH Invites Comments and Suggestions on Updating the NIH Mission Statement

NIH has issued a Request for Information (RFI) inviting feedback on a proposed update to the NIH mission statement. As the largest public funder of biomedical and behavioral research in the world, it is important the mission statement accurately reflects NIH’s goal of turning scientific discoveries into better health for all.The RFI is now open and will close on November 24, 2023.
